Week 42

It's pretty amazing how easily I can get bummed out. Moe is off gallavanting with Junior, but I don't know where he is and it's a little upsetting because he doesn't have his tags on (I hadn't clipped them on to the new collar because they were so loud). Steve was loading the car before lunch, and when he came out on one trip... he was just not there. Neither is Junior so that's why I think they are together. I'd decided at one time to let Moe be more of a dog and not get too upset when things like this happen (like I did with Doobie) He can hear, he normally comes when we call, he has a healthy respect for cars, and is off with Junior... so I shouldn't be worried, but I can't really help it. I'm sure he'll come back... Steve is looking for him right now, while I'm at work. :(

Didn't do much last weekend... did go see the Elizabeth movie, it was over the top, but good. They grilled out at our house with everyone. Hadn't gotten to do that in a while.

Knight's Academy is this weekend (assuming we find moe in time to go) I hope he comes back soon, because we are already packed and ready.

Reading: Stardust by Neil Gaiman -- They made a movie of it recently. It's pretty good.

Sewing: Actually got a couple of things done this weekend since we didn't go anywhere... I made steve a new tunic (grey wool) I made Moe a new bed (he likes it but it's too small) I made 2 new pillowcases for us (dragons on the cuff and purple and gold bodies) and I made a passport holder on a string (but the string is too long) I also started cutting out the pieces for a tumbling blocks quilt that I saw on Simply Quilts.

2:45 pm
steve says:
Found junior on new light road ins omeones yard, moe wasn't there, walked through their fields for about 15 minuts yelling, decided to come home change shoes and trace the path through the fields back over there, and guess what nucklehead's sitting on our front porch.
April says:
good!
steve says:
and he drank a whole bowl of water
April says:
silly dog, I'm glad he came home thank you for looking for him so hard

So all is right with the world again!

Week 41

Coronation went off without a hitch as far as I can tell... Our group was hosting it and Steve and I were afraid that nerves were going to be a lot more frayed than they were. Everyone annoyed everyone else a little I think, but it still got done and everyone seemed to have a good time.

Since Havordh was assuming the title of emperor for life he offered to let all of his retainers continue to serve he and his decedents unto the 7th generation. At which point they stabbed him. Presto time for Uther and Kenna to step up. :)

Their ceremony was very nice. Lots of crusaders and ibns. (supposed to be on crusade to Jerusalem)

Feast was fabulous. Got a comment that it was the best someone had had in the 30 years they'd been in the society.

The biggest award news was the elevation of Lailiane to Pelican! It was a surprise to her and most everyone else. (I actually found out about it the night before, by accidentally seeing the scroll.)

I did get the shoes cut out and sewn together... now I just have to soak them and turn them right side out. They were simple to make I hope they fit well.

Kinda sick a little this week. Just coughy and sniffly and draggy. *sucks*

Read: The woman who walks into doors. Seriously depressing book about an abused wife. Reading now: The big over easy. a much more fun book by Jasper Fforde.

Week 40

Merdian Grand Tournament this past weekend. It was great to hang out with the folks on that side of the world again. A few of them are coming over to see us (or more exactly Lailiane) this coming weekend at Coronation too. :) I took this fabulous picture of Glenna just as the sun was going down.

I got a pattern for Irish Shoes from Callaigha... So I'm working on those, I have one of them almost all the way sewn. I hope they work, hers were really cute.

Still reading Newton's Canon, but almost done. Been a little distracted... Got a dog training book called Quick Clicks from the library. It is out of print of course and I'd love to own it. I guess I'm going to have to photocopy some of it.

Quilt guild went really well. We made glue bottle basters and I did a demonstration of how to starch prepare applique pieces. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. They were very complimentary of it.
