Week 48

A very crafty week at my house. For some reason I got intrigued by the SewMamaSew blog of homemade holidays. A list of 30 days of tutorials and patterns

I made a headband, a box-bag, and a pleated tote. I just love the tutorials that you can find online nowadays.
The headband is comfy, the boxbag is perfect for the new lens, and I think I'll give the tote to Trixie for Christmas next weekend. I'm going to make another one for Animal party as well, because I have this wonderful black and white fluer fabric that I haven't known what to do with.

Read: Zippy a story of growing up small in Indiana. It was really cute. Trixie had loaned it to me a while back. Just startin A walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. If I finish it in time I'm prolly going to include in in Trey's Christmas present, cause he'll appreciate the humor I'm sure.
Staying home this weekend. Going to be making some Christmas goodies and doing the shopping for the Household party lunch.

week 47

Here is the crown list page I made. Camric won, and we are going to be on their entourage.
Uther and Kenna made Nigel a Baron of their court! That was the biggest fun at court.
We took up way too much time at Sa'ad's vigil, but they stood outside and talked with everyone we'd made wait, so hopefully no one is too sore with us. I wrote a limrick for the vigil, it just came to me. (I put it in his visit book)
There once was a squire named Sa'ad.
Whose prowess was surely no fraud.
The knights all agreed,
and so they decreed;
that Sa'ad should be given the nod.
We went to Steve's folks for Thanksgiving. Tripped down to Natchitoches for the Christmas lights and supper on Saturday. Went out on Friday and met half a dozen people that all had nicknames, critter, sox, bubbles, diamond, pawpaw, it was really kinda funny. Sometimes I think I need a nickname too :P All the cool kids have got them.
Steve's mom and dad got us a new lens for the camera 70-300 its going to be great to have for Gulf Wars sighting in on fighting out in the crush of the field.

week 46

here is the page I made for holy pail last weekend.. it was a good event. very pretty weather. got a little cold after dark, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

Went back to the orthapedist with steve (one that our sports teams use this time) and found out that he SHOULD have had surgery on his finger, but now it's just too late so he just needs to keep it safe and not bang it up anymore until it finishes healing. So no fighting in crown for us this time. oh well... we'll still have a good time at the event... and have 2 bottles of whiskey to assure it!

The fall colors this year are fabulous... I just had to go take some artsy shots while I was at holy pail, I stuck one of those in the middle of the montage.

Reading: Labyrinth by Kate Mosse. Steve thought it was the David Bowie Labyrinth, but it's not it's got cathars and catholics, and lives being relived in future times. Half is 21st century half is 13th.

Week 45

We took off this past weekned. Didn't do much. Went and met some folks in Columbus at the river house, that was kinda fun. Nothing like muskrat love.

We got the camera in on Saturday so we spent a good bit of Sunday taking pictures in the front yard, just trying to figure out the settings. Steve has made a photoblog for us, and I've put some of them on Flickr. http://flickr.com/photos/7730579@N05/

I finished steve's shoes and he turned them and wore them around a little on Sunday. They look good, and he says they are comfortable.

I took off on Tuesday and spent the day Christmas shopping... I got most everything I need I think.

Steve went to the Dr. on Wednesday and discovered that sure enough his finger is broken... so he will probably have to have some kind of surgery to fix it... So I guess we are out of crown next weekend :( Just as long as it is better by London.

Finally finished the Maximum Ride book and will be starting Labrynth this weekend. (I picked it up at a darling little consignment / antique shop in West Point)

At the Starkville quilt guild meeting they talked me into being the secretary..... I can't believe this.... How come I let them do that?

Going to Holy Pail this weekend... the New folks are coming too. :)

Weeks 43 & 44

Knights academy went really well... I did talk to Eilidh and we came to an agreement on our new relationship... and now I have a yellow belt. She presented me in court and everything. Everyone kept congratulating me, I'm not sure if that is the right response, but I'm glad everyone thinks it's a good idea as well.

I turned my new shoes and they fit!!! I wore them around all day and everyone was very complimentary. I sent the pattern out to about a dozen people who requested it after the weekend. I wore them around at ork wars with a pair of socks and they were even more comfortable than without.
Caillin got called up in court and was inducted into the Sable Banner and given a Grant of Arms!
At Ork Wars, Ocho and James the Holy were inducted into the Ram's liver for promoting Shotzie and for enjoying it a little too much.
My camera batteries died just before court at ork wars... Very disappointing because that's where all the cool costumes were. :(
We took part in a Trivia Contest and came in tied for 3rd... but probably could have gotten 2nd with a couple of different answers... there were 5 on the team, and there were discussions about some that where we discarded the correct answer. Our team was Stick-Rock named after Ocho's orky A&S entry.
Steve and I started doing serious research into the DSLR camera we want and couldn't stand it anylonger and went ahead and ordered one... our Pentax K10D should be here Tuesday!!!!
SCA Meeting last night we had 4 new people show up.. I would really really love to have some new blood in the group! and this might just be the transfusion that I'm looking for. We are going to grill and sew with one of the couples this weekend, and hopefully will get them all to go to an event with us next weekend.
We are here this weekend with not much planned. Should be a nice break. The Pardon Johnny Cash festival is going on this weekend though... that might be fun. http://www.pardonjohnnycash.com/
Reading: Maximum Ride by James Patterson. I also snuck in the first of Ceaser Millan's dog books and we have 2 photography books out of the library right now.
