Week 4

Youth Camp is this weekend. We had monday off and really enjoyed that. I've been working on a Bliout but haven't gotten it finished yet.

Movies: Sweeny Todd and Cloverfield. One was excellent the other not so much.

Read: Ruff Love (got it from ILL glad I didn't buy it), Crazy makers (about food, not very encouraging), and The last of the really great Whangdoodles (the best book of the week)

It's sleeting and freezing rain right now and they closed the university, but I'm still here. I hope it's ok to drive home this evening.

We got new phones and now belong to AT&T for 2 years. Finally got all the numbers transferred over and still working on finding good ring tones.

Steve has a swollen eye. It's been there on and off since new years. Been to the dr. 2x now and they don't have a good explanation... lots of pills and some really expensive drops. they think it is allergies, but don't know to what. He feels awful about it (thinks it looks bad).

Week 3

High school camp this weekend. The only problem we had was a dad who had brought his son from Canton without bothering to check in with anyone about what he needed and so expected to be allowed to participate in camp without his medical form. Because he'd been able to do that twice now at other sports camps. I just about told him that his "Sence of Entitlement" was what was wrong with this country and why did he think that rules didn't apply to him, and how could he be rearing his kid to expect special treatment despite his unwillingness to respect others.

Steve and I are working on Shaggy and Thelma costumes for a couple of cons this year. I have most of my costume, still need a better sweater and the glasses. And just got steve's pants at hudsons today.

I made chocolate cupcakes today... been craving them for a while now. Yummy

I made a t-tunic for Jack Benson the other day. I hope that it will fit him.

I made almond cookies for D&D the other night. they turned out yummy too.

Lynne and steve made their reservations for the cruise.. so now we are up to 13. This is going to be so much fun.

I did call and catch up a little with sam last week, and called Targon on his birthday. I need to call people more often. Maybe that should be my resolution this year.

Week 2

Father / son baseball camp is this weekend. I'm really disappointed in the way that Wade has handled it. He didn't call them like they normally do. So folks didn't find out the details of the camp (or even that they were in in some cases) until like 2 days before. It's just not polite or a good way of doing business in my opinion. But registration went alright after all.

We went to Tuscaloosa on Saturday to go to fighter practice. They had a bunch of new fighters, but they were excited to fight, and Steve had a great time working with them and giving them pointers.

Reading A meeting in Corvalis... it's pretty good.

I got some prints made from the London trip, so at least I have a small photo book to carry around and show to people. I also put a lot of old pictures in a photo album to play catchup. I had a stack about 4 inches tall of pictures that needed to be sorted and stored.

Week 1

finally settling back into work... didn't have too much trouble with jet lag except for being wide awake at 4 am for a day or so. Moe was glad to have us back I think.

Read: the Quiet Game a story of Race relations and a criminal investigation in Natchez, MS recommended to me by the owner of the Craft store in town (which is closing down unfortunatly)

Reading: A meeting at Corvalis the 3rd book in the dies the fire series by SM Sterling.

We took Moe to the dog park in town this weekend, I think he had a good time playing with the dogs a little and chasing balls and such, just being outside and free.

Week 51 & 52

London for 9 days and Amsterdam for 3. I'll get the full details on this reported here soon, but needless to say we had a wonderful time. We took over 1200 pictures.

finished reading Spindle's end and left it at the hotel in Amsterdam.
