Week 12

We went to a con last weekend. An adult sci-fi con, so it was a little more risque than what you normally see. Not awful though.

Saw a hypnosis show by Dave Fontenot, that was fabulous. Makes you really realize how wonderous the brain is.

Our Velma and Shaggy costumes were a big hit. Everyone recognized them immediatly and made a big fuss over them.... very fun

Week 11

GULF WARS
all week! what a wonderful War!

Rained once, was sunny, and cloudy, and windy, it was hot and cold. Just like most gulf wars. This is #17. So I think that makes me old. I've been doing this for a long time now.

The social was well attended and lots of fun. I made a batch of that hypocras and it was all drank up by the end. The deep fried cheese stuffed jallapenos were the bomb!

The Diamond Tourney came off well. Nice food selection and nice layout. Northshield won again. No huge surprise there. Fighting wasn't the cleanest I've ever seen, but then I'm not the one wearing the helmet.

Actually went and saw the processional this year, it's been a couple of years since I did. Lots of great pagentry and banners. HRM Ansteorra did fall from the saddle at the end, but was not injured.

Went out drinking on Thursday and had a ball, but had to head back not too late to work a gate shift at 6 am. luckily no hangover.

Known world party was beautifully designed and extremely well attended. Trixie dressed me up in a Itallian Renn dress and did my hair. I was told that it looked pretty, but I felt a little naked. HRM Kenna asked me if mine felt as "costumey" as hers did. I had to agree.

Missed most of court helping set up for the NWP, but that's all good too. The most important part of court business actually happened after great court. Drogo of Axbridge was elevated to the status of knighthood. While Peyton was putting on his belt you could hear Jack Benson saying Daddy daddy daddy, Benji said, "that's Sir Daddy", and the ceremony continued. It was lovely and very much a family affair with everyone gathered around the thrones infront of the fort.

Week 10

Stayed here this weekend. Went to Columbus to try to find a sweater for the Thelma outfit. Finally found a white cotton one and dyed it a perfect color. So now the outfits are complete.

Tupelo guild and D&D this week, didn't leave much time for cooking for Gulf Wars. Someday I'm going to learn to do it ahead of time, but not this year apparently.

Steve's helmet did come in. So he padded it and strapped it (and wore it around a lot on Wednesday) I made a bag for him to carry it in so it doesn't get banged up in transporting armor.

Read: The Dress Lodger. it was alright. I looked at it in London, and then picked up a copy of it from Ancara the other day at WW.

Gulf wars starts in 2 days, and it is supposed to snow tonight.
