Week 22

Canoeing on the black creek this weekend. Camped at Cypress Creek Landing had 33 folks on the water in 13 canoes. More than ever I think. Beautiful weather for the float everyone got a little sunburnt, but not too awful.

I got a ticket in the evening for having a beer in the campground. *shrug* guess it could have been worse. Only 4 of us did when it was all finished. No one could talk about anything else the rest of the evening. Kinda put a damper on the party.

Steve and I snuck off to Biloxi on Sunday to see what was left on the beach. There are huge condos going in and it's kinda dismaying to see.

On the way home we discussed finances and gas prices and decided that we could afford to buy a new car for the amount of money in gas we could save by doubling out gas mileage. So we did. We are now the proud owners of a Toyota Yaris. :)

Read: Fool Moon, and reading Eragon. I returned Brenna's box of books and she loaned me 2 more that are "Southern Vampire" stories.

Week 21

Crown List! Havord won again. It was a pretty good list, but we all felt bad that Loric didn't win, he fought very valiantly in the finals.

Charles did a very funny "Hollywierd Squares" game at the Non-Ball. Queen Onora really is a laptop.

Read: Marley and me: life and love with the worst dog in the world. Pretty good book. Started on 48 days to the work you love. Still pretty apprehensive about what is going to happen around here with Coach Polk leaving. They haven't decided who will take his place. I really hope whoever it is will be easy to work with.

Everyone is getting very excited about the cruise.

Week 20

I did a quilt class this past weekend, and steve went over to the sipsey wilderness to scout it out while I was in class. He didn't get quite as much adventuring done as he wanted bedcause the roads weren't very good. I did get all the quilt blocks done for a quilt that we designed using the spinning pinwheels book. I've since sewn them together and it looks pretty good. I was planning on putting a few appliques on it and will still do that I think.

I've got a few too many things I've GOT to get done this summer for my own comfort level I'm afraid.

read: Star-anchored star-angered, and Yonder comes the other end of time, the other 2 Coyote Jones books this week. Got the Power of Positive Dog Training from PBS so am reading that again now.

Week 19

Blue Suede Cruise in Tupelo this weekend. Met Eric, Rhonda, Drew, Raven, and Karen up there and had a blast. Lots of cool cars to look at, and fair food, and a band. Went to Elvis's childhood home and down the trace in their convertible.

I completely blanked on the idea that the tupelo guild meeting and the Starkville guild meeting could be 2 days apart and I didn't have an extra week to prepare... I so much didn't think about it, that I didn't go to the meeting. It all worked out alright in the end and I'll do the program later, but I was seriously gotten away with about it.

Read: Stormy Weather, and reading Comunipath Worlds.
