week 29

went to steve's folks house this weekend. Moe loves running around and exploring out there... he even came out on the boat with us this time rather than waiting on the dock.

Everyone in that part of the country is all excited about the Natural gas pocket they have found under their parish. They have leased their rights, now if they can just find it and get it pumped they might be in the money.

They did give us a little cut of their lease money so we are going to go to a financial planner next week and see what they can tell us about investing we need to be doing anyway.

reading: the Yearling. Just a beautiful book!

Week 28

4th of July.

Went to Kim's house in Ocean springs and then to the home place in Wiggins. Kim did wonderful things with her refurbishment of her house. The kitchen and dining room adjoin the living room so you can cook and still talk to folks. The pool has a screen cover which keeps out the leaves if nothing else.

We watched fireworks and were able to get a couple of good shots from that. We were pretty far away, but not crowded at all where we were.
Joni is moving in full time to the farm house. She had to completly gut and rebuild the farm house due to termites. She did a fabulous job with the decorating and such.
On the work front, I got a raise! Apparently it might have been system wide for sect. who've been here for 10 years, but I thought for a while it was just for putting up with the headaches of changing bosses.
We went to 3 movies this week, we were getting so far behind. We saw WALL-E, Wanted, and Get Smart. they were all good!
Finished reading: Made in America. a history of Language of the USA. (more like a history of the USA through language.)

Week 27

Week itself went alright. nothing too exciting at least.

Birthday Bash this weekend, had a good time. We took the yaris to it's first event. Camped in a little dome tent and was able to very easily pack everything and get 34 miles to the gallon.

read: A Thousand Splendid Suns. Steve's mom had loaned it to me, so I wanted to finish reading it before we go down there in a week or so. I really don't like the author's writing. They are not very uplifting stories in my opinion.
