Week 3

we went down to Jackson on Saturday to a fighter practice / A&S day. Had a good time, got Simon authorized to fight that was the biggest plus. Did get to hang out with Peyton some as well as Roz, Medb, & Kimiko. Had Aladins for supper on the way home. Yummy and mostly low carb.

Reading: Blink.

I knitted a Calorimetry (head band thing) and am now waiting on my circular needles I ordered to come in to start a new project.

week 2

Congratulations Mistress Margot du Bois. she finally got recognized and elevated by the laurel Circle. This was the letter I sent to be read.

Unto Their Royal Majesties Havordh and Mary Grace do I send greetings.
Greetings and Salutations from I, Viscountess Danielle de la Roche; ninth Princess of the Principality of Gleann Abhann and Seneschal of your shire of Tor an Riogh.
I write today in support of the Honorable Lady Margot duBois.
I could tell you of her skill and study, but this is self-evident and has been vouched for by the illustrious Laurel’s Circle.
I could tell you of the depths of her friendship and the breadth of her good will, but the length of its telling would last far into the night.
I should tell you of her willingness to serve because she does so in such a gentle and quiet way as to only be seen in the background or along the edges of many successful endeavors.
Instead I will tell you that she has a curious and creative mind, talented and tireless hands, and a generous and gregarious spirit; and is an undeniable gem of your kingdom.
The depth to which my heart has sunk at not being in your court today is nothing compared to the heights to which it will soar upon hearing heralds and historians tell about this day in the life of Margot duBois.
You ask if I speak for her, I tell you she is my peer, she is my better, she is my friend.

She said it made her cry. It made me cry writing it. I wish I could have been there, but I'm just glad it finally happened.

Reading: Grass.

We couldn't go to Winter Wonders cause of work, so I worked on a couple of projects, Steve got Simon pretty much ready to authorize next weekend, and we went over to the Sipsey Wilderness and hiked down to Caney Creek Falls. Took the dog and had a very nice day out. Came back through Tupelo, and I picked up a skein of yarn for my next project. The current one is now at the decreases stage. So the light is visable at the end of the tunnel.

We spent the last 3 nights watching True Blood a retelling of the Sookie Stackhouse books on HBO. Lots of fun. Well done and good music. They added in some things just whole cloth, but they are all working and not too distracting.

Week 1

There is something really big going to happen at Winter Wonders... I dont' get to go... it sucks.

I'm not saying what it is here cause even though no one reads this it might get out. I'll tell next week.

Reading: Grass. It was recommended by an author I liked, I recommened it to steve and he liked it too. So now I get to read it.

2 weekends of camp done now, only 1 more to go.

Steve got a GPS with his class money and we are going to try to take it out to the sipsey wilderness this weekend and go hiking a little. Hopefully it won't be too cold, but it's really cold this week. Supposed to be a low of 7 on Thursday night.

I'm working on a purple hat (le slouch) and it's going alright, I hope it fits. I'm also working on steve's fighting tunic trim right now. got 1 sleeve done and the second one in the works. I need to be making SCA garb too. Maybe I'll have time to do some of that on Monday (day off.)

Weeks 50-52

It's the end of the year as we know it. come on sing along...

Mom and Dad came through on their way to see Trey, Karen and Lauren.
Trey, Karen and Lauren announced they are pregnant. So Lauren will be a big Sister.
As a big Sister I was really glad to have gotten all my presents done and given out by Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving was great cause we got to see lots of family.
Family made me join up on Facebook.
Facebook has taken up a lot of my time seems like, even when we were in Disney.
Disney was a great trip. We were joined there by Rick and Marnie.
Marnie way of doing Disney was to stand in line and knit.
Knitting is my new hobby apparently... Marnie gave me a pattern for a baby Hat.
I made the baby hat, probably for Trey and Karen's new baby.
or maybe Jon and sonya (but dunno how serious that was),
Jon and Sonya went on the cruise with us.
Cruised out of New Orleans with Steve's folks.
Steve's mom has been wanting us to do a family Christmas Vacation for years, so we finally did.

That covers a lot of the last 3 weeks.

Now onto next year. 2009 here we come.
