Week 33

Cadron Creek in Arkansas was the destination for this weekend. We had a ball. Steve and I rented kayak's and did the rapids in those. I think I can see their appeal. Maybe something to do again in the future.

Still knitting on the baby blanket (have 3 weeks to finish it now) and the hat. I did a really quicky scarf at the D&D table the other night and will prolly do a couple of more of those before Christmas.

Reading So Your dog is not Lassie. There is some really good information in there!

Week 32

BEACH!!!

we went to Orange Beach with the -ic's and the Arkansas Angels.

We had a blast, got a little sunburned, made way too much food, visited the "Toy store", drank to excess (some of us), and had a ball.

This was the picture I made from the weekend. Camric had his flag flying and I paired it with a sandcastle in phtoshop. Worked out pretty good.

Someone turned me onto "the Guild" as an online video show. I love it!!! just too funny.

We are going to Arkansas this weekend for canoeing, last trip of the year I guess, but it should be fun!

Reading: Realityland - Story about WDW it's creation and running.

Started a Double Knit hat with a fair isle pattern of a celtic spiral. I am enjoying doing it. It is made out of the yarn that erin gave me for my Birthday.

I'm taking a large bag of quilting fabrics to Trixie this weekend, I hope she likes them.

Happy Birthday to Me!!! (week 31)

So Steve came home early from Pennsic which was great for me. He brought me yarn, 2 t-shirts, a bag, and a new whiskey cup.

We decided to do something simple on Saturday and just invited folks over to grill out and play games. At the end of the e-mail steve mentioned it was my birthday, and everybody brought presents. It was nice but unexpected.

Erin brought yarn and a cake, Alex and Nikki brought 4 kinds of icecream from cold stone, Lindsey gave me a book on how to make corsets, a Six pack of pear cider from Boogie, a gift certificate from Dietrich and Rena. Way more than I deserved really. My friends like me I guess, makes me feel good to know. :)

Lindsey and Kenneth are leaving next week and we unfortunatly won't be around to help them pack and move, gonna hit the beach with the braziers. I do hate to see them go, but they will prolly enjoy themselves in DC. Maybe we'll get to go see them someday.

Still working on the baby blanket. I ordered some knitting needles (zephyr interchangables) for my B'day. So maybe will start another project to go with this one soon. (Hopefully will be delivered today.

Reading Realityland right now... Behind the scenes story of Disney World.

end of June - July

Grand Canyon trip was great it was a fun trip with beautiful sights to see, and a long road to travel.

It's a really big hole in the ground, but worth every mile of going out there to see it.

On July 4 we went over with Jon and Sonya to visit Steve's folks, Moe got to go too and he always enjoys running around out there.

Sonya is going to have a baby in February and Steve's mom is VERY excited. She'd bought it several outfits already and I'm sure has plans for more. We rode around and looked at drill sites for a while and had a wonderful fried fish dinner.

Baseball camp went alright this year, no real huge issues. Setting them up was a pita, but once that got done they did run alright.

Someone suggested an Animal Summer camp party earlier in the year, so I decided to take the inititive and plan somethi
ng. I found a location, picked a date and sent out information, but only 3 people said they were interested at all, so I cancelled it and planned a Canoe trip instead. We floated the Bogue Chitto with B&P, S&L, A&N, Trixie & Eric. It was a beautiful day!
The last weekend of July we were supposed to go Canoeing up in Tishamingo, but decided instead to go to Mobile and visit Steve's mom's family at her request. I impressed his Uncle Charlie by putting together little puzzles most of the day, and he brought out some of the "toys" he'd made to entertain the kids when Steve was little. Terribly clever mechanical creations with ball bearings and tracks all very "rube goldburg". Since we'd already taken off on Monday we went over to New Orleans and walked around the quarter ending the night with drinks at Pat-O's with Ricky.
Trey's 2nd daughter Sarah Rose was born July 29. Came fast and easy. Mom and Dad are still up in Evansville helping everyone adjust.
Caillin left July 31 going to Pennsic and should be home on Friday just in time for my Birthday. I went to the performing arts event in Jackson and stayed with Sam and Mike and the kids. They are cute and always on the move.
I've knitted a lot and read a lot in this month. That's what all this travel is good for.
right now I'm reading "Practical Demonkeeping" and knitting a baby blanket for Sarah.
