week 6 & 7

Valentine Weekend.

Steve and I went to Jackson to see Roz's dance troupe's Black Hearts Ball. We dressed up some and had a good evening with some Jackson SCA folks, and watched some really cool Dancing. I enjoyed playing with the camera trying to take high action low light photos. Got some nice compliments on them afterwards, and they had a very cool feel to them.

We spent the day bumming around Jackson, shopping some and finally even made it to the Natural Science Museum. We went to a party Saturday night and then back home.

I got to reading about the I pod Touch this week and couldn't convince myself that I didn't want it or wouldn't use it..... so I bought one. I had some money left from different things and have so far really enjoyed having it.

I finished Caillin's fighting tuinc so he will have it for Fighters collegium this weekend. He wore it on Sunday, and even though it was exactly the same size as the other one, I still whispered "please fit please fit please fit" as he put it on.

Finished a pair of fingerless gloves out of the yarn I bought last weekend in Jackson. The colors reminded me of Mardi Gras, and got them done by Fat Tuesday, so too bad there's no parade around here to wear them to.

Week 5

Went to Selone 30th Year this weekend. Got to hang out with the Brazier boys and had a really good time. I sat with Chrystyna while she ran the list to try to get an idea on how to run it at Diamond Tourney.

Steve came in 2nd in the list to Camric, but that gets him his ticket into the TOC. I'm very glad that is the case, he was a little stressed last year before he got his cause it was pretty late in the year.

I'm almost done with the smoke ring I'm knitting, now I get to think about what to do next.

Just about done with the trim on Steve's tunic too, so I can start cutting it out and get it done by Fighters Collegium.

Still reading The Skystone (knitting and applique is slowing down my reading).

Best pictures from this weekend landscape and SCA.

Week 4

Hung out in Starkville this weekend and tried to get some sewing done for Gulf Wars. Pretty much got my bliaut cut out and started sewing together, still have to figure out what to line it in and then finish sewing it. I ruined a piece of Blue corderoy that I was trying to make a over tunic out of ... I eyeballed it and made it WAY too small. Well mabye Kenny or someone else's kid will like it.

We sewed over at Lindsey's house and watched 27 dresses and Made of Honor while we did.

I knitted up a little swatch to felt out of that grey wool I'd bought on e-bay couple of years ago. It came out very nicely.

My circular needles finally came in on Wednesday so I also cast on that project and have made a stich counter and been through the first rotation :) yay progress.

Progress on Steve's fighting tunic too... only 1 panel left to applique and then I can finally cut out and construct his tunic. Should have it done by Fighters Collegium. Knock on wood.

Reading: the Skystone. recommended by Uric. Supposed to be a retelling of athurian legend. Good writing, but not seeing Arthur yet.
