Week 28
Almost done with camp finally!... only have 2 more registrations, this afternoon and Monday morning. We are going to the Beach next weekend, becuase of registrations I can't go this weekend.
Floated the Okatoma this past weekend. It rained about 2 inches in the morning before we went, so the river was very very high. The chutes and rapids that are normal for that river were so flooded that you could tell where they were, but they were marked by standing waves rather than waterfalls. There were very few places to stop because of the excess water.
There was a group going down the creek that was planning on camping on the river.... there were 31 of them. Most of them were not having a good float. Everytime we saw them somebody would have dumped themselves and their stuff into the river.
I've spent a lot of time on the internet this week looking at dog training pages. Clicker training is so cool, and I'm looking forward to working with that technique when we get our new dog in the next couple of weeks.
Read: Second Hand Dog by carol lee benjamin, GRRR.. dog aggresion (I'd bought it before, but just finished it) by Uncle Maddie, and am in the middle of Tales from Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett. (it's short stories)
I've actually started working on the background for my Summer Memories challenge quilt for the Tupelo guild. I hope that I can get it done in time.
We went and saw Transformers with Benji and Steve and Lynne. It was a terrificly fun movie. Left completly open for a sequel at the end.
